St. John's wort Symbolism & Medicinal use

Symbolism
St. John's wort in people's perceptions is one of those plants that originated from blood or feathers, and so on birds (lightning), which brought the heavenly fire to the ground and was injured at the same time a hostile creature. Later, St. John's wort is assigned the property to drive out evil forces.

Hypericum perforatum previously thought magic plant: it is protected from witches and ghosts, and the purple juice, obtained by pressing the flower buds, was regarded as a fascinating tool.

Medicinal use
St. John's wort contains giperitsin, allowing St. John's wort extract used for the manufacture of non-prescription herbal antidepressants, such as Despres, Gelarium Hypericum and Negrustin used in milder forms of depression, psycho-vegetative anxiety disorders.
St. John's wort preparations have antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, astringent, hemostatic effect, accelerates regeneration of tissues, strengthen heart function, increase vascular tone. They are effective for ascariasis and the dwarf tapeworm.
